Consolidation and Reporting Accountant

LOCATION: Coventry, England, UK

  • Oversee all company accounts, investments and intangible assets reconciliation
  • Monthly consolidation and reporting of results externally
  • Annual statutory accounts and group consolidation
  • Liaise with external auditors
  • Acquisition accounting and support with the integration and reconciliation of new acquisitions
  • Manage group tax calculation, UK and overseas VAT returns and quarterly covenant reporting
  • Prepare monthly internal reporting to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts
  • Manage rolling forecast and budget reporting
  • Process monthly cashflow reporting and review against budget and expectations
  • Work closely with the Financial Controller and the wider team
  • Suggest updates and improvements for accounting processes where applicable.
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and legislation
  • Collaborate with auditors to ensure efficient year end audit and compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations
  • Work with the tax advisors to ensure compliance in all statutory areas
  • Report budgets and financial forecasts for the company on an individual show basis and based on current trading
  • Effectively interpret and communicate financial data to non-financial managers
  • Responsible for consolidation and acquisition accounting to ensure the accounts are accurate and in line with current accounting standards
  • Managing corporate governance procedures, risk management and internal controls as directed by the FD
  • Ensure all financial information is accurate and reported in a timely manner
  • Assist in the collation of reporting to be presented to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members
  • Support with ad hoc tasks as deemed necessary by the line manager


  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to gain the trust, confidence and respect of colleagues
  • Strong technical accounting skills, with direct and proven experience, knowledge and passion for proactively  developing accounting and business systems and processes in a hands-on way
  • Confident in forecasting and preparing budgets accurately
  • Solution-orientated with a proactive “can do” attitude, instilling a sense of pace and urgency into the organisation, and willing to delve into the detail
  • Efficient in producing professional reports and analysing information to support decision making
  • Ability to maximize efficient usage of financial information systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working within fast paced environments
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills 
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure
  • Meticulous attention to detail

  • Experience effectively managing internal stakeholders and external customers
  • Strong IT skills and systems management
  • Preferably qualified within an accounting practice, with ACA (preferred) or equivalent.
  • 3 years PQE in a corporate environment
