Sales Executive - German Speaking

  • Sell exhibition stands and sponsorships and ensure personal sales targets are met
  • Work with the Event Director and Show Manager to deliver the campaign strategy and ensure sales and show targets are met and exceeded e.g., overall numbers of exhibitors, exhibitor mix, stand sales, sponsorship inventory, yield and sponsorship revenues
  • Deliver on personal sales targets across events
  • Proactively deliver the show strategy across new and existing business
  • Visit and canvas at competitor and industry events and develop a systematic understanding of and monitoring of competitors
  • Listen to customer requirements and negotiate agreement terms and effectively close sales
  • Create detailed written proposals and send them to the client in a timely manner
  • Identify key new business clients and sales targets within their prospect universe
  • Get close to the market, understand its trends and develop your sales pitch accordingly
  • Foster positive and professional relationships with your existing and prospect clients, associations, sleepers and where appropriate, contractors, media and commercial partners
  • Be prepared for power hours with well researched identification of targeted prospects


  • Fluent in German and English – written and verbal
  • Experience within a similar role (a minimum of 3 years)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding customer service skills and interpersonal sills
  • Strong stakeholder management 
  • Experience working within fast paced environments
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills 
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and as part of a wider team
  • Proactive and able to utilise initiative
  • A high degree of self-motivation and not easily deterred 
  • Experience effectively managing internal stakeholders and external customers
  • Strong IT skills and systems management (e.g. CRM systems, MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel)
  • Awareness of exhibition production (desirable)
  • Experience of growing and developing new markets and products (desirable)
  • Tele-sales, media sales or exhibition background (desirable)
  • Relevant data centre industry knowledge (desirable)
  • An understanding of the event cycle (desirable)
