Senior Marketing Manager – Technology

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Work with the Group Marketing Manager, Head of Content, Marketing Director and Event Director and the wider Marketing team to develop and implement marketing strategy, positioning and key messages and product strategy
  • Manage the creative/design process for marketing material. This includes updating and developing existing materials, and the creation of new material in line with the marketing strategy
  • Work with the Sales Team to create sales campaigns, focused on both new client growth and increased client retention. This includes messaging to drive revenue across all products such as digital, sponsorships, and future revenue opportunities
  • Develop strategic audience development plans and ensure marketing communications accurately reflect event positioning and key messaging. Be the lead in messaging and writing regarding our out-bound reach to our customers
  • Collaborate with partners to develop marketing campaigns, lead generation strategies and compelling materials for all revenue streams across live and digital products
  • Regularly review marketing plans, response rates/KPI’s, attendee demographics, and industry best practices to ensure marketing efforts are effective and successful, making recommendations and adjustments as appropriate
  • Oversee and execute community building and social media strategies that drive engagement, interaction, brand affinity and could improve the audience experience
  • Devise and deliver digital marketing strategies, supported by our internal digital strategist
  • Database management, list management, and development with the support of business intelligence and data teams
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting of key marketing statistics and forecasts
  • Manage marketing budgets, purchase orders, and liaise with Finance on reporting requirements
  • Manage PR Strategy. Additionally, work to create/manage press lists, invite press, and consistently grow and develop media relations across all channels
  • Responsible for the delivery of all delegate, visitor, and attendee revenue generation, plus the development of attendee/delegate pricing strategies and reporting
  • Line management responsibilities inclusive of: training, providing feedback and coaching, supporting with recruitment and onboarding activities, managing performance and reviews, and developing the team
  • Support with ad hoc duties as deemed necessary by the line manager

PERSON SPECIFICATION – SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working within the technological industry and across the marketing mix, promoting B2B conferences and/or exhibitions
  • People management experience – managing direct reports, leading teams, managing performance and conduct and training
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (in English)
  • Experience writing industry specific copy for technological events
  • Outstanding customer service skills and interpersonal sills
  • Strong stakeholder management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and networking skills
  • Experience working within fast paced environments
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deliver on time
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and as part of a wider team
  • Experience effectively managing internal stakeholders and external customers
  • Strong IT skills and systems management (e.g. content management systems, databases and email software)
  • Able to produce creative and well thought out marketing plans
  • Demonstratable commercial acumen to develop sales-led marketing initiatives
  • Strong experience managing social media and developing online communities
  • A fabulous sense of humour
