CloserStill launches new dedicated respiratory conference and exhibition

CloserStill launches new dedicated respiratory conference and exhibition

The NHS Long Term Plan published in January 2019 highlighted respiratory disease as a clinical priority area, giving new focus to improving delivery of care. The document identified late diagnosis, variation in service provision, geographic and socio-economic inequalities, rising emergency admissions and poor international comparisons as challenges to be overcome.

On the back of the plan’s revelations, along with extensive research in this area and CloserStill Media Ltd’s impressive track record of launching leading healthcare events and exhibitions including Best Practice and the Clinical Pharmacy Congress, we are delighted to bring you The Respiratory Show, which will take place on 9th-10th October 2019, at NEC Birmingham.

With lung disease ranked as the UK’s third highest killer and mortality rates stable for over a decade respiratory care presents a real and growing challenge to those tasked with improving outcomes in the UK. It was clear to us that the respiratory community is in need of an event that allows professionals in this specialty area to be able to meet, learn, network, enhance skills, share best practice, and plan for the future.

This new event supports the NHS Long Term Plan, and aims to provide better training for those who deliver respiratory care; better uptake and availability of pulmonary rehabilitation and provision of appropriately resourced respiratory care closer to home.

The Respiratory Show will deliver an UK-wide audience of clinicians in primary care and secondary care; ranging from GPs, consultants, respiratory nurse specialists and clinical pharmacists, commissioners, service managers and other professionals who are responsible for the delivery and quality of respiratory care. We will deliver a cutting-edge agenda shaped by an advisory panel of experts in respiratory care, covering the key themes: Allergy, Asthma, Bronchiectasis, Cough, Cystic Fibrosis, Lung Disease, Lung Cancer, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Sleep & Ventilation, Pleural / Thoracoscopy, Tuberculosis and Thoracic Surgery.

Respiratory conditions account for more than 24 million GP consultations a year - GPs, nurses and clinical pharmacists are at the frontline of care in this field, so this new event is purposefully located right next to the UK’s largest Primary Care event, Best Practice and Best Practice in Nursing.

The extensive research carried out to professionals engaged in the delivery and transformation of respiratory highlighted that:

  • Over 73% plan to attend our launch event
  • 96% intend to send a team member
  • 89% of our respondents have regular contact with patients with respiratory conditions

Delegates will have access to over 30 hours of free training aimed specifically at the needs of respiratory professionals across both primary and secondary care. This new event with provide an abundance of world class, advanced clinical accredited CPD training at no cost to the delegate.

Our leading secondary care event Acute General Medicine (AGM), has been delivering seven years of education with over 1,000 respiratory professionals attending this event over this period of time. We have kept up to date with the latest information and techniques and look forward to offering this support on a much bigger scale by providing them with their own event. The quality of our conferences is unrivalled with three of our medical events winning more than five of the events industries most coveted awards.

CloserStill Media Ltd takes great pride in having provided NHS professionals from across occupational therapy, pharmacy, dentistry, primary and secondary care with more than £16m worth of free training, and aim to continue to do so.

The launch of The Respiratory Show offers exhibitors the valuable opportunity to be part of a show-stopping, solution-based event and to engage with senior commissioners, providers and those involved with the delivery and transformation of respiratory services.
