The London Vet Show Celebrates Return
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: 24th November 2021 – The London Vet Show returned to the ExCeL earlier this month for two action-packed days of learning, business, and celebration on the 11th-12th November 2021. The award-winning trade show was postponed in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, meaning this year’s edition was the biggest live gathering of the veterinary community in two years.
Feedback coming in from speakers, exhibitors and delegates has been highly positive – with businesses reporting two extremely successful days of sales and networking. They also noted the special atmosphere around the exhibition floor and how great it felt to be reunited.
Rob Chapman, MD of CloserStill’s Veterinary Portfolio, said:
“It was amazing to be back at the London Vet Show. We’ve heard a lot of people questioning the place of the traditional congresses since the start of Covid-19. The pandemic forced us behind computer screens and at the time it was a necessity. However, the London Vet Show 2021 reinforced everything that we have been saying for the past two years. Namely: people need people, community, fun, connections, and there is no better way to feel any of that than to get face-to-face."
Feedback from delegates, exhibitors and partners has been universal. They are excited to be back in the real world, and they are looking forward to more. Now, we are onto planning BVA Live 2022 and London Vet Show 2022 – both of which will take place as live, in person events.
Fi Marjoram, Education Specialist, Hills Pet Nutrition, said:
“This is our fourth time at the London Vet Show. We recognize that this show is important, and it gets bigger and better every year. We are really delighted with the number of people at the show and how many have seen us on the stand. We will absolutely be returning next year!”
Dr. Lucy Chadwick, Head of Technical Services & Marketing, FORTE Healthcare Limited, said:
“We have been exhibiting at the London Vet Show for a number of years (and) 2021 was our best show to date. We were launching a new product and the show was the perfect event to showcase this. Delegate engagement was excellent and there was no truly quiet moments in the exhibition. London Vet Show forms a significant investment from our marketing budget each year, and this year in particular it felt like a good return on investment.”
As well as exhibitors and delegates reporting a great experience, education partners the Royal Veterinary College and British Veterinary Association had a very successful return to live events. Jill Maddison, Professor of General Practice, and conference organiser for the popular RVC Clinical Theatres 1, 2 and 3 said:
“Returning to ExCeL for the London Vet Show 2021 was amazing if initially a little scary. The buzz, the rapt attention of participants in the lecture theatres as they listened to probably their first live onsite lecture for over 18 months, the sight of exhibitors and delegates animatedly chatting, seeing friends and colleagues meet and greet so happily and catching up with RVC alumni and friends was just wonderful. As a speaker, it was fantastic to finally be able to see the audience instead of speaking to squares of names on a screen, to really feel connected with the audience and to answer questions in person. All in all, a great event – can’t wait for the London Vet Show 2022!”
Ahead of the first BVA Live in 2022, the BVA have reported an eventful London Vet Show also. As well as their two theatres of clinical content, the BVA hosted their Career Development stream, BVA Congress and a lounge for their members. Justine Shotton, BVA President, said:
“After an understandable hiatus it was brilliant to bring the veterinary community back together to network, learn and discuss the issues that matter most to the profession. I’m particularly proud that sustainability was so high on the agenda in our Congress sessions, Tamsin Edwards’ fantastic and thought-provoking Wooldridge Lecture and throughout the show.
“We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended and made the event such a resounding success and look forward to seeing many familiar faces again at our standalone event BVA Live in June, then the London Vet Show 2022!”
