Thousands of healthcare professionals reap the rewards of free education at Health+Care

Educational shows Commissioning, Residential Care, Home Care concluded at the ExCeL Centre last week, alongside exciting newcomer the Digital Healthcare Show.

LONDON, 28 June 2017 – Show organisers CloserStill once again waived the £899 ticket fee for NHS and care professionals from across the UK to attend Health+Care on 28-29 June for free so they could gain practical solutions to help them turning ambitious plans into action to secure the future of health and care in the UK for generations to come.

The latest addition of  Health+Care means CloserStill has now provided move than £14ml of free to training to the NHS and social care as the CloserStill believes world-class education, shouldn’t be reserved for the privileged few.

The four co-located shows hosted a remarkable, world-class line-up of over 400 expert speakers and 10,668 delegates. 8% increase on the previous year. Amongst a full programme dedicated to improved patient care and efficiency,  highlights from the show included: the first update on the Primary Care Home new model of care; , OneHealth Tech, previously known as HealthTech Women came together, as a community to share their learnings; and eight Global Digital Exemplar sites shared their success stories with delegates. Digital healthcare professionals were given a full programme of ideas to support them in protecting their organisation and patients in the wake of the WannaCry ransomware cyber-attack.

The show also showcased an actual Care Home in the centre of the event, giving delegates the opportunity to walk through an example of a care home at it’s very best. The Care at Home Pavilion was the first collaboration of its kind between, highlighting how care at home can improve patient wellbeing and alleviate pressure points within primary and secondary care.

The Sustainability Through Transformation Hub saw the largest ever gathering of STPs, giving the sector the opportunity to discuss plans for their patients and organisations within their locality. The 18 theatres provided a dedicated conference programme for care providers, trusts, CCGs, local government, GPs, medical professionals and clinicians, which creates a live reflection of health and social care integration plans of the full 360° care pathway working and learning together to provide better care in the most efficient way possible.

Health+Care was the first national event following Brexit,  a snap election and the NHS Cyber attacks and provided a platform for Philip Dunne, Minister of State for Health and other health professionals such as: Dame Ruth Carnall, Former Chief Executive, NHS London, The Rt Hon Stephen Dorrell, Chair, NHS Confederation and former Secretary of State for Health to come together to be part of a positive and practical  two-day educational programme for the sector.

Exhibitors and visitors were unanimous in their support and praise for the shows. Ralph Collett, Managing Director for Healthcare Shows, CloserStill Media, says: “The 2017 events have been a massive success and already 94% of the exhibition space from this year has already been rebooked for 2018 with extra space being added.”

Health+Care, Commissioning, Residential Care, Home Care and the Digital Healthcare Show, will return to the ExCeL Centre next year, 27-28 June 2018.
